APPLING COUNTY PRE-K COMMUNITY FIELD TRIP
Pre-K classes from Appling County Elementary Complex went on a community field trip after covering a unit on community and community helpers. The field trip included the County Farm Plant Company, Appling County Emergency Management Services, Appling County Public Library, and the Cleveland Carter Tractor Museum. At the County Farm Plant Company, the students were exposed to a variety of plants, how to care for plants, and how to plant their own flower to take home. The Appling County Emergency Management Services gave the students a tour of emergency vehicles and explained how their equipment was used to rescue people. While students visited the Appling County Public Library, they rotated to different activities to explore the library which included an oral book reading. Students completed their community tour at the Cleveland Carter Tractor Museum. At the museum, students were able to see the farming equipment, housewares, and furniture that were used in the past. Students and staff enjoyed the trip which reinforced their learning of how local businesses help the community to prosper and community helpers keep the community safe or provide resources for assistance. Pre-K appreciates all those that participated in making the community field trip a great learning experience!
