Appling Applause Wins Division Appling Applause traveled to Montgomery, Alabama January 29th to participate in the Capital City Classic Show Choir Invitational sponsored by Tallassee High School. The group performed a show based on the movie “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure”. Applause performed, “Nothing But A Good Time:” with guitarist, Gabe Spell, “The Assignment” with soloist Shane’na Gillis, “Free Ride” with soloist Gabe Spell, “Somewhere in Time”, “History Repeating” with soloist NyAsia Andrews, “Centuries/Victorious” with soloist Kelly Le and “We Are the Champions”. The characters were: Bill-Trey Pate, Ted-John Sellers, Rufus-Gabe Spell, Teacher-Shane’na Gillis, Cleopatra-Kelly Le, Marilyn Monroe-Sydney Kate Roppe, Abraham Lincoln-Jaden Giles, Beethoven-Tristan Pate and Napoleon-April Johnson. Applause won the Middle Mixed Class C division. In addition to winning the division, the group also won Best Vocals. The award that has made Mrs Davis the proudest was the Star Award which is given to the choir that has shown the best attitude and has been the most encouraging during the competition. Mrs Davis added, “This says a lot about the students in Appling Applause. It shows great character and sportsmanship. These students made Appling County proud today for their talent and their heart.” The students will compete Feb 26th at the Music City Show Choir Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee and at the Peach State Invitational in Tifton, Ga on March 5th.
