ACES Celebrates ESOL Celebrating ESOL at ACES

ACES is blessed to have three of the most amazing English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teachers there are: Erika Boatright, Jaclyn Hernandez, and Lindsay Miller. The focus of ESOL class is to increase students’ academic English language proficiency so that they can be successful in the classroom. For the ACES ESOL teachers, their students receive so much more than just academic language instruction. Mrs. Boatright, Ms. Hernandez, and Mrs. Miller create lasting relationships with their students as well as the students’ families. These connections help foster trust and safety, and students feel at ease in practicing skills and even in making mistakes. While these teachers do not always get to see the end product of their ESOL instruction, they are able to plant the seeds to help students grow and develop.

Mrs. Boatright, Ms. Hernandez, and Mrs. Miller not only teach their ESOL students, but love them. Their passion for their students and making sure that they receive quality instruction, feel safe at school, have equitable access to learning and activities, and opportunities is what truly sets them apart! ACES is truly blessed!
